Whether you need reassurance, a second opinion, or assistance with a prescription, Abi is here for you. 

What Is Included in the Service? 

Medical Advice and Reassurance: Consult with doctors about your health concerns.

Second Opinions: Gain confidence in your treatment plan by consulting with our doctors for a second opinion.

Private Prescriptions: Request medication prescriptions via Video consultation or Form-based requests.

Sick Notes and Referrals: Obtain referral letters for specialists or sick notes if needed.

How to Access the Service 

1. Connect via the button in your portal or App

2. Select your preferred consultation method: text, video or form prescription.

3. Enter your details (name, date of birth, contact number, and email).

4. Submit your health question and wait to be matched with a doctor.

The service is free, private, and confidential. Your personal information is used only to provide services such as prescriptions, referral letters, and consultation summaries.

FAQ’s 

Using the Service 

Do I need to book an appointment? 

No, appointments are not required. Abi is an on-demand service, simply submit your query to connect with a doctor straight away.

What hours are the services available?

Abi is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

How do I choose between text and video consultations? 

The choice depends on your preference. Text is ideal for quick questions, while video is better for detailed discussions, prescriptions and referrals. 

Can I use the service abroad? 

Yes, you can consult Abi’s doctors worldwide. However, prescriptions may only be issued within the UK. 

What if I don’t have an internet connection? 

An internet connection, via a mobile network or WiFi, is required to use Abi’s services. Without it, consultations may not be possible. 

Prescriptions 

Can the doctor issue private prescriptions? 

Yes, private prescriptions are available. 

Can the doctor issue repeat prescriptions? 

Yes, however, this will depend on the type of medication, medical condition and is not a replacement for management of a condition by your own doctor. 

What safeguarding measures are in place for private prescriptions?

All prescriptions are issued by registered doctors where clinically appropriate, in conjunction with Abi’s remote prescribing guidelines. 

Fit Notes and Referrals 

Can the doctor issue fit notes? 

Yes, fit notes can be provided after a consultation. 

Can the doctor issue specialist referrals? 

Yes, referral letters are available if clinically appropriate.

Abi’s doctors are GMC registered professionals based in the UK. 

How are doctors vetted? 

Abi performs rigorous checks during recruitment and ongoing assessments to maintain quality standards.
